The club was incorporated on May 1, 1962 under the provisions of Part V of " Companies Act" of the Province of Manitoba as a corporation without share capital. Construction of the curling rink began in the summer of 1963. The only part built by professional labour was the large metal arch covering the four sheets of artificial ice. All summer a group of 15 to 25 curlers could be seen with their hammers and power saws building the clubrooms & a large basement. The rink is located in Middlechurch only a few yards off the Selkirk highway just west of the Municipal hall. The building is 176 feet long and 64 feet wide with two large clubrooms, the ground floor including a modern coffee bar and upstairs. The club celebrated its official opening on December 15, 1963. The executive consisted of President Fred Byle who doubled as icemaker for the first year, Chic Balderstone, Ed Watt, Roy Fulsher, Bob Bale, Del Richardson, Vince Burr, Pete Pochinko and Gil Claeys. In 1975 extensive renovations were made to the upstairs clubroom to accommodate a seating and viewing area with bar facilities. Further improvements have been added to the upstairs over the years for the comfort of the curlers to its present setting. Final payment on the mortgage was made on April 30, 1979. Burning of the mortgage took place at the annual general meeting May, 1979. Vince Burr
